What this PS5Xbox privacy policy covers

You can read the guides and use the installation readiness checker without an account. This launch version has no payment system, user uploads, newsletter signup, advertising code or contact form.

The readiness checker processes your selections in your browser. Its answers are not sent to us or Google Analytics, and the site does not save them as a profile. We do not ask it to collect your console address, account details, credentials, game files or free-text notes.

Hosting and ordinary web requests

Cloudflare delivers the site’s pages and static assets. Like other hosting and delivery providers, it processes request information needed to provide and protect the service, such as your IP address, the requested resource and technical browser or connection details. Images may also be delivered using Cloudflare R2 storage.

This necessary delivery happens when you request a page or asset, regardless of your analytics choice. Declining Google Analytics does not prevent the host from serving and securing the website. Depending on the security functions applied to a request, Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and cookie documentation for its processing practices.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 is optional. Its script is loaded only after you choose to allow analytics. Before a choice, and after you decline, this website does not load that analytics script or send analytics events. Reading the site and using the checker do not require consent.

When allowed and configured, analytics helps us understand page visits and whether the readiness checker was used. Analytics can process page information, basic device/browser information and analytics identifiers stored in cookies. We do not send readiness-check answers, email addresses, credentials or free text as analytics parameters. Google Analytics is not used here for advertising audiences or personalized advertising.

See how Google uses information from sites using its services for Google’s processing details. External providers may process information outside your country.

Change or withdraw your choice

Use Analytics choices in the footer or the floating Privacy choices button to allow or decline analytics at any time. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage so the site can remember it on later visits. The choice expires after 180 days; optional analytics then remains off until you choose to allow it again. This preference is separate from the readiness checker’s answers.

Changes are shared with other open tabs on the same website in the same browser profile. They do not synchronize to another browser, device, private-browsing session or different site hostname. Clearing site data removes the saved preference; until you choose again, optional analytics remains off. If local storage is unavailable, the site may be unable to remember your choice between visits.

Withdrawing consent stops future analytics activity from this site and removes its accessible analytics cookies. It does not undo requests already sent or automatically delete data previously processed by Google. You may allow analytics again later; a later choice does not retroactively report your earlier tool answers.

Email correspondence

If you choose to email the publisher, your email provider and the receiving mail service process that message. The information you choose to include may contain your address, message body and attachments. It is used to handle your inquiry, assess a correction or deal with a privacy request.

Keep sensitive details out of messages. Correspondence may be retained while needed to resolve the issue or document a correction. A published correction does not need to include your email address, and we do not publish it for that purpose. Contact us if you want information from your correspondence reviewed or deleted; we may need context to locate it and establish that the request concerns your information.

GitHub, Microsoft documentation and other source links take you to separately operated sites. Their own policies apply after you follow a link. This site does not automatically embed a third-party video player in the guide pages.

Policy updates

We will revise this page if the website’s actual data flows change, such as adding a service or changing how optional analytics is used. The effective date will change with a substantive revision. Read the Terms of Use for the scope of the information service, or use the contact page for a request.
